Camp Rock Scores Huge Ratings On Disney Channel
Boston (ChattahBox) - Disney’s Camp Rock managed to score some huge ratings as it made its big debut Friday night, following in the Disney musical footsteps of High School Musical, and its sequel.
Camp Rock managed to do some big numbers on the Disney Channel.
It averaged 8.9 million total viewers from 8 to 10 p.m. on Friday night.
This made it the network’s No. 2 most-watched original movie ever, behind only High School Musical 2.
High School Musical 2 managed to garner 17.2 million average total viewers when it made its premiere last August.
Camp Rock did however manage to beat out the original High School Musical, which made its debut with 7.7 million viewers in January 2007.
3.5 million kids aged 6 to 11, and 3.4 million kids aged 9 to 14 tuned in for the movie.
The numbers are according to Fast National Ratings from Nielsen.
