Biggest Loser April 21, 2009: An episode filled with good lessons for viewers
After Laura was eliminated last week, Tara was extremely sad at the start of this week's episode. Even though Laura was injured and couldn't really compete, Tara still didn't think she should have gone. Jillian straightened her out by telling her it was not safe for Laura to continue and Tara needs to realize that. Viewers could also learn from this that you should not push yourself if you are injured. Your body needs to heal or else you'll just get worse and worse.
Rosemary Ellis from Good Housekeeping Magazine to challenge them in a fitness and food trivia quiz. This challenge was informative not only for the contestants but also for the viewers who got to learn various tips about fitness and diet habits. For example, a small "personal" pizza turned out to be 8 servings according to it's packaging which tricked all of the contestants and shows how manufacturers trick us as well. Kristin and Mike ended up with the same score and had to go to a tie breaker. It came down to guessing the calories of a sandwich and Mike was closer so he won a trip to New York.
The next challenge was for a bigger prize - either $10,000 or a 1 pound advantage. The 6 contestants had to hang from a cage for as long as they could, using mostly upper body strength. This challenge was about more than strength though, it was also about fear. Fear of heights or fear of falling made it even harder for many of the contestants. The height scared Mike enough that he let go within just a few minutes. Filipe decides to do a little trash talking and shake the cages in hopes to distract the others but instead he is really ticking them off. I guess he's not looking to make any friends in these final weeks. The strategy failed to work as Filipe ended up falling before the girls. After an hour, Kristin couldn't take it anymore and had to let go leaving it all down to Helen and Tara. Helen fought hard to try to beat Tara, but once again the girl in green dominates and holds on with ease to the very end.
In the midst of all this, Bob asked his team to video tape their meal for the day to prove to him that they know how to eat. While they thought they were eating very healthy, Bob was so unhappy with their food choices because they cut their calories way too much and they left out protein. He taught them that a healthy diet does not mean cutting all food in half which is a great lesson for all the dieters out there!
Mike confronted his father, Ron, for allowing him to gain all the weight in the first place. This break though point is something Mike needed to go through in order to go home and continue to lose weight. All dieters out there need to find their own breakthrough point and confront their own demons in order to keep up with their weight loss plan.
Now for the weigh-in. Tara decided to take the $10,000 instead of the 1 pound advantage which is always a risky move. Jillian was actually happy to see Tara take the money and bet on herself for the win. Tara lost 5 pounds giving her 2.75% so it seems she gambled on herself and won.
* Ron - lost 4 pounds - 1.32% - under 300 pounds for the first time since he was a teenager
* Helen - lost 1 pound - 0.62%
* Mike - lost 8 pounds - 3.29%
* Filipe - lost 3 pounds - 1.21%
* Kristin - gained 1 pound - +0.41%
With Kristin and Helen below the yellow line, the contestants now had to decide who deserved to stay. While Kristin still was the bigger threat with more weight to lose, she also hasn't done well the last few weeks making it seem like she's not a threat at all. Although Ron promised he would never write Kristin's name down, he didn't promise her that he wouldn't scheme to get her out of the house. He immediately went to his son telling him that Tara and Mike had to vote for Kristin because in a tie breaker Kristin would go home for having the lowest percent of weight lose. It seems that Ron is really out to protect his son in any way possible. Ron's plan was executed exactly as he had set it out to be sending Kristin home due to her low percent of weight loss. What's sad about the whole situation is that Ron still claimed he was keeping his promise in helping her get to the end - however by giving Mike the advice to vote out Kristin it seems like Ron really didn't care to protect Kristin.
With Mike feeling on top of the world and already claiming the win, will he be sadly disappointed in the end? Tara is still a huge competitor and no one seems to be acknowledging that. If I had my vote, I'd vote for Tara to win this whole thing! Tune in next week to see the final weeks on campus before someone is named The Biggest Loser

Hells Kitchen Season 5 Episode 11 - Hells Kitchen Season 5 Episode 11 aired on the Fox Network tonight.Here is a detailed summary of the episode.
* Prologue:
Ramsay did not shut down Hell’s Kitchen, as stated in the previous episode. Instead, the contestants were flown to the Borgata Hotel and Casino for a multi-day trip to see their potential future place of employment. After touring the hotel, they sit down for dinner with the Borgata’s executive chef. Robert left the table after a few minutes, complaining of chest pains. He was taken to the hospital for observation and tests.
* Elmination:
After a few days of waiting Robert returns to Hell’s Kitchen. He reports that he has a heart condition and leaves Hell’s Kitchen because of his condition. Chef does remark that he had the possibility to win after he says his final farewells to the final four.
* Challenge:
After visiting Borgata the final four must present a dish that they would serve in their restaurant, should they be the winner of Hell’s Kitchen. Chef is impressed by Danny, Paula, and Andrea’s dishes and he claims Andrea the winner.
* Award / Punishment:
Andrea has been promised a spot in the top three. No punishment is given. Ben, Danny, and Paula are upset that Andrea, whom they have outperformed, will last longer than one of them.

In the meantime, Walker is given the information that Larry is dead and joins the FBI team searching for the operative. Tony comes up with a plan to trap the FBI team in an empty apartment complex and use C4 to demolish it. Jack joins Walker once he finds out Larry is dead, and tries to console her, but she blows him off. Once on site, the operative fakes being an FBI agent and tells the team that he saw the operative go in the apartment building. By using tracking devices on each of the agents, Jack is able to ascertain that they are in a trap and the order to clear is given, but it is too late. After searching for Walker and finding her alive, Jack puts several clues together and discovers that Tony has been lying to him. He confronts Tony, but has a seizure and Tony escapes. The operative, with the canister, is taken away in an ambulance, which he promptly hijacks.

American Idol predictions as to who might be going home this week (April 15, 2009 results show). Last week we got it right by the way. This week's theme: Movie Music.
Adam Lambert: We know he's not going home. He scored once again with "Born to be Wild" and looked as if he were born on the stage. Lambert would have woken up any Oscar show with that heart stopper, sounding so much like Robert Plant of Led Zeppelin. Lambert's version of "Born to be Wild" was the second most searched for of the night. Lambert was the favorite coming into Tuesday night's show at BetUS.com.
A lot of critics were suggesting that Kris Allen had the best overall performance of the evening despite judge Randy Jackson's own criticism of him.
Allen performed "Falling Slowly" from the film "Once" and scored the single highest search count in Google Trends.
Lil Rounds probably will not be going home this week as she closed the show and "The Rose" was the third most searched for American Idol song of the evening, but that's only half the story since a lot of people were searching for specific lyrics within the song such as "Some Say Love It Is A River". And "The Rose Song" was also getting decent inquiries. One of my personal favorite songs and I didn't care for her rendition of it, but many of those Idol watchers unfamiliar with this Bette Midler classic might very well have. It wasn't horrible either, which should help her chances.
Anoop Desai is probably safe and deservingly so because the song he chose to sing was a cheesy one from the Robin Hood film, yet he made it sound pretty good and his vocals shined through. It's not one of Bryan Adam's best. Sorry. This was the 4th most searched for song of the night on Google. The Robin Hood film was also heavily searched Tuesday evening.
Endless Love was the 5th most searched for song of the night, sung by Danny Gokey. It wasn't great but Gokey has some star power, a decent enough following and it was probably good enough to keep him on past this week.
The most blasé performances of the night go to Allison Iraheta singing "I Don't Want to Miss a Thing" by Aerosmith, which to some of us felt forced down our throats, not to mention it wasn't the most original song choice in the world.
Matt Gerard is going home, however. He sang "Have You Ever Loved a Woman?" by Bryan Adams from "Don Juan de Marco" and that performance received very little interest, plus it just wasn't very good.
I think we'll be seeing Allison and definitely Matt in the bottom three. There is a toss up as to whether Danny Gokey or Anoop Desai will be appearing as well. Anoop seems to lack star power, which was evidenced by his near elimination last week after a decent version of Cyndi Lauper's "True Colors".

clerk in a bank and is very simple living personality. He is finding it difficult to meet his daily routine ends and is facing all time high insults from almost everyone in this world. He has many wishes which he is not able to satisfy because of his low profile and less paying job. His daughter wants to change her surname from Bhosale to Chopra/Khanna/ Kapoor just to make it big in Bollywood and that with her current surname she cant achieve it. Son wants to become an engineer but cant because Dad cant afford it. Wife wants to stay and live a life like a high profile society woman but cant stand her unpractical husband. In all Shivaji is living a pathetic life due the mental torture.
He stays in an old ancestral bungalow which is in the heart of the city - Mumbai. One builder eyes it and tries to vacate the family by alluring them of flats + car in Badlapur + Rs.50 lakhs.
Shivaji rejects the offer saying that this is his ancestral property and he is not going to go away with this one @ any cost. Now if a builder wants the property he goes to any level even if the property is in Heaven. Shivaji is brought to all sorts of problems and troubles from the builder and is also not helped by anyone. To add to it he is facing great insult at the hands of his wife and children for rejecting such a nice offer. Feeling the pressure, he landed in a beer bar and got himself knocked out by the hotel staff. He is in great pain and no one cares. He is cursing his useless life and his being a common man and more of an Maratha in Mumbai! His inner man is frustrated and outcries his incapability of changing things around. At this moment Sachin Yedekar gave A BREATHTAKING SCENE. Its his illussion that he is speaking to the great Marathas of all time, Babashaheb Ambedkar, Mahatma Phule, Veer Savrkar, Great Tilak etc. I can’t explain the punch of this scene. Go watch it yourself and see your breath goes away and heart beats at all time high. AWESOME. Sachin Yedekar is one of the finest actors of Marathi Industry and has his mark in Bollywood too. Remember his role in Tere naam as Salmaan’s big brother. He has come a long way and he is just getting better and this one is best till date!
Its here where the course of the movie changes and here comes our King The Great Shivaji! HE ARRIVES AND STILLS EVERYONE – WOW.
The story becomes somewhat predictable from here and It might give you the impression that its like Lage Raho Munna bhai, where in our Munna meets the Mahatma and that Mahatma guides him through. Its almost on the same lines but its different. The script is more sharper and it carries a great balance and entertainment till the very end….
The best performance in this larger than life character is our Mahesh Manjrekar. I can say the best ever Shivaji till date! Just great performance. I saw people shouting slogans - Jai Bhawani - Jai Shivaji @ the hall - a great feeling. I was roaming from 12.00 to 3:00 to get tickets @ any of the multiplexes but in vain they were all house full and finally got ticket at Prabhat that too in Stall and on Black! Still worth. I also saw some people giving Mujra (Salutation) once they saw their King on screen - an amazing thing to see in a cenima hall for a King who still rules the hearts of many.

Khedekar and Mahesh is so great that it keeps fully involved till the very end. There are so many punching lines and effortless scenes that it shall raise blood in your viens........ People were whistling, clapping, shouting slogan - Shivaji Maharaj Ki Jai during the whole movie. I felt so proud that I belong to this culture, that I am an Indian and a Maharashtrian and to the soil which was ruled by the greatest warrior of all times - Great Shivaji.
The cinematography is superb and the fort scenes with taken with full heart. Full credit in this department. The film has great message and it’s to the point and has been executed with great maturity. The issues of interstate people getting jobs, hotel businees dominated by Punjabis, Real estate by Marwaris, Stock markets by Gujratis etc are handled perfectly well. And thus this makes the film to be seen by all. Only the one who can understand Marathi can actually feel the actual punch but still if in case this movie is dubbed and watched or seen with subtitles this shall have a great effect on the viewer - I can guarantee that.
The movie is about self respect and respect of your community, culture, ethics, religion, caste, equality, secular characteristic of the nation, bonding with your soil, love for your motherland and much more.
There were some loop holes though but I don’t want to let the credit go away for things that can be overlooked. Watch this movie for extremely superb performance by Sachin Yedekar and Mahesh Manjrekar like never before. The film is having a very long canvas which revolves from the 16th century to the 21st century and that includes the current day scenario too. There are many many powerful one lines and great scenes which I am not disclosing just to keep you to experience the thrill yourself. Go for this one for sure.
